Hello, Brockbank Families!

What a surprise to get a little snow upon our tulips!  Spring is always a little crazy in Utah!  Please make sure that you have your child dressed appropriately, as we are not quite sure what kind of weather it will be!

We are proud to let you know that our school was a recipient of the ENERGY STAR CERTIFICATION!  This is an amazing feat because in order to qualify a building must score in the top 75 percentile compared against other schools in the nation.  Our Nebo School District average score was 99!  We want you to know that we are “energy aware,” here at Brockbank and do our best to conserve energy!

Parents, this time of year is especially busy, as you well know!  Please read the bulletin carefully!  I think every day in May has a scheduled event!  We are excited as we begin to wind down the school year and have such special activities!

Kindergarten Program:  Our little kindergarten students will have their program on Friday, April 20th at 9:30 for the am Kindergarten classes and 1:30 for the pm Kindergarten classes.  This will be such a special time for our students that have done so well this year!

Track Meets:  Over the course of the next few weeks, we will be having our Track Meets for grades 3-6.  All the track meets will be at the Spanish Fork High School football field.  Here are the dates for those meets:
April 24-3rd Grade
May 1-4th Grade
May 8-6th Grade
May 15-5th Grade

PTA Carnival:  We are so excited for our PTA school carnival that will be April 30th, from 5:00-8:00.  The PTA has held a carnival the last few years and they have been wonderful!  We appreciate all that our PTA does to help our school!  Wrist bands will be sold for $7.00/person before the carnival, and $10.00/person at the door the night of the carnival.  The wrist band will let you participate in all the activities, including bounce houses, a dunk tank, fire trucks, pony rides, a train ride, and balloon art.   Food will be sold separately and includes pizza, nachos, cotton candy, snow cones, and drinks.  There will also be a bake sale!  More information will be coming home this week!

Kindergarten PRE-Registration:  If you were not able to make it to our Pre-Registration, please come and get pre-registered for Kindergarten.   This will really help us know our numbers for next year.  Please help spread the word if you know of families with a child coming to Kindergarten next year!

Year-End SAGE Testing:  April 9th will be the beginning of our SAGE Testing in grades 3-6.  Teachers will be testing over the course of several weeks.  Your child will not be testing every day, however, it is imperative that he/she is at school, whether his/her class is reviewing and/or testing.  If your child is going to be absent during this testing period, please notify your child’s teacher so he/she can make arrangements for alternate days of testing.  First and Second grades will be testing April 23-May 11th, and the Kindergarten Assessment will be May 21-25.

Family Information:
Utah Association for Gifted Children is offering a tour of the Leonardo Science Museum.  Please see the attachment.
Circles Community Action is looking to make a difference in our community!  Whether you would like support for your family, or if you would like to help people in our community, Circles is a resource for you to consider.  Please see email for information.  There is also information at our office.

Math Lab:  Just a reminder that we have our Math Lab opened in the mornings before school, at 8:30.  Any student is welcome to come and practice math facts, use the online REFLEX program, or get help with math assignments!

PTA:  Parents, we need your help!  We need more parents to get involved with PTA!  This is such a great organization and the PTA does so much for our students, but we need all the help we can get!  We know it takes a village to raise a child, and PTA makes it possible to help make this happen!  PTA volunteers are there to support students make good progress with their academics, with activities, with needed items for our school, and with support for families.  Please come be a part of our PTA!  Contact Brenda Dudley for more information with how you can help!
