Kindergartners in Mrs. Tara Farr's class recently read "The Tortoise and the Hare". They talked about being a good sport and not giving up and that they can do hard things. As they raced the turtles in class they discussed the importance of being a good cheerleader to each other no matter if they win or lose. They also talked about how the turtle was able to persevere and keep trying until he reached his goal. This activity helped them realize that as a class they are a team and they support each other and encourage each other to do their very best even when it may be hard!
Brockbank sixth graders had a wonderful time learning about ecosystems with a visit from Loveland Living Planet Aquarium. The Aquarium has furthered its mission to inspire students to explore, discover and learn about Earth’s diverse ecosystems and has launched a new traveling program, the Eco-Van, for sixth-grade students.
Friday, September 8, Brockbank students enjoyed a fun eventful "Pop into Reading Party". It was for those students who read more than 880 minutes over the summer. We are so proud of all of their efforts and hard work! The majority actually read well over a thousand minutes. There were relays, a dancing party, and all kinds of bubble and balloon activities. Besides "popping" activities there were tasty treats, popcorn, pop, and pop rocks. The students really enjoyed it! We are looking forward to increasing the number of participants next year. Summer reading definitely makes a difference!
