Brockbank Students Tie Blankets for Primary Children's Hospital

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

In January, Brockbank Elementary partnered with the Spanish Fork High School and collected money for "Bucks for Blankets". The "kid power" sixth grade council members along with advisor, Mrs. Terri Jensen encouraged students to bring in their change to help buy fabric to make blankets to give to Primary Children's Hospital. Recently students were given the opportunity to help tie the blankets that will be given to the hospital. Brockbank students were able to tie and give 110 blankets to this great cause. Kids really can make a difference!

Brockbank Second Grade Students Enjoy Dr. Seuss Day!

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Brockbank second grade students celebrated Dr. Seuss Day by making "soup". They would read a Dr. Seuss book and then add an ingredient to their soup. They read "Hop on Pop" and added popcorn, "One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish" adding fish crackers, "Green Eggs and Ham", adding robin eggs, and "The Sneetches" adding gummy bears. They enjoyed reading the books and eating their soup.

Spanish Fork is hosting the 2016 Wrangler Champions Challenge Rodeo for the third year on Saturday, June 4 at the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds. To help promote the rodeo and at the same time to encourage students to read, the city is offering a Champions Challenge Reading Contest. Bull fighter, JJ Harrison, Fiesta Days Rodeo Queens, Spanish Fork Police Officer Bryan DeWitt, along with city officials came to Brockbank to entertain the students in a fun assembly and get them excited to read.

Hello, Brockbank Families!

We have some really fun things to look forward to, for the month of March!  Last week we were able to have our BFF activity and learn about priorities.  The students talked about things they need to do and things they want to do.  The students  watched a cool video that showed an example of how you "fill" your life with doing important things first, then the things you want to do will fit fight in!

Hello, Brockbank Families!

It looks like March will enter in like a lamb, which is great with us! It has been fun to watch the students run and play outside with this nice weather!

Today we were able to have JJ Harrison, a professional rodeo clown, and members of the Spanish Fork Riding Club come and give us a special challenge!  Each student that meets his/her reading goal will be able to put his/her name in a drawing for a free ticket to the Champions Challenge Rodeo and a free pair of Justin Boots! Please help your child meet the reading goal for the month!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!! To  celebrate, students wore shirts with writing so students could read their shirts. There was a school wide game of Seuss-O (a form of BINGO) where students had to find pictures around the school and mark off their game card for a prize. Principal Larraine Nelson went to each grade and read a Dr. Seuss book to the students. She read, "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" The students really enjoyed having their principal read a book to them!

Brockbank Box Top Winners for January

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Brockbank's PTA instead of individual classes competing the month of January they decided to mix it up and have a grade competition to see which grade could bring in the most "Box Tops!" Third grade brought in the most box tops and so this month there is 4 heads on the "Box Top Hero" hanging in the hall by the office.
