Brockbank fifth-graders got the opportunity to go to Camp Floyd State Park and experience the life of a soldier enlisted in the Johnston's Army. The got to watch musket fire and candle making. They also got to attend classes in a 19th century one-room schoolhouse, tour the museum, and Stagecoach Inn. The students really enjoyed this field trip.
Brockbank students in Ms. Kristi Jensen's class participated at Maple Mountain High School in the Superstars Track Meet. There were almost 260 students from every elementary school in the Nebo School District that got to be track stars for the day. Students participated in the 50, 100, 200, and 400 meter dashes and relays, and many of them also did the shot put, the standing long jump and high jump. All participants received a medal and T-shirt.
We are excited to offer a summer reading program this year at Brockbank. The goal of our program is to keep students reading in the summer. Summer school runs for eight weeks, beginning the week of June 8, and running through July 23. If you decide to participate your child will be assigned a 45 minute class that meets twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. There is forms in the office if you are interested in participating in this program. The tuition for summer school is $30 per student.
