September 19 Brockbank's PTA celebrated school spirit by having  "Popcorn Friday" PTA parents sold popcorn during lunch recess to students for 50 cents a bag.  Popcorn Friday's are new this year and will continue through out the school year not every Friday, but about once a month they will be selling popcorn out at lunch recess.  Just a fun way to celebrate school spirit and Fridays.  We encourage students to wear school colors on Friday, either a school t-shirt or any shirt that is mainly navy blue or maroon.  Thanks to our fun PTA parents who are promo

Brockbank First Graders Learn About Friendship by Reading the Book, "Enemy Pie"

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Brockbank first-graders read the book, "Enemy Pie" written by Derek Munson about a boy whose summer is ruined when Jeremy Ross moves in and becomes number one on the enemy list. Fortunately, for the boy his father has a secret recipe for a pie that is guaranteed to help get rid of enemies. While his Dad works on mixing the ingredients and baking the pie, he explains that his son's role in the plan is that he needs to spend a day with his enemy. Even worse, he has to be nice to him. It sounds tough, but the boy decides to give it a try.

Principal Hansen Reads to Kindergarteners!

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

One of Principal Alison Hansen's favorite things she does at the beginning of each school year is going into the classrooms and reading to the students and visiting with them. After reading the book, "The Day the Crayons Quit", Principal Hansen explains the school policies and rules to the students and answers questions. The students really enjoy having a book read to them by "their" principal.
