Brockbank Fourth-Graders Enjoy Education Field Trip

On Friday, September 24, fourth-graders at Brockbank Elementary attended a fun educational field trip to Canyon View Park located at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon. Several parent volunteers helped out to make the day successful. The students were divided into small groups and each group rotated around the many stations that parents or teachers instructed. All of the activities focused on the environmental issues, particularly conservation of resources, that are part of the science curriculum in fourth grade.

The HAPPY FACTORY located in Cedar City, Utah, donated the steam shovels along with several wooden toy cars, trucks, vans, and jeeps to the classes. Charles Cooley, Founder, stated, "We take some wood that would be wasted, mix it with some time that would be wasted, and make a toy to stimulate a mind so that is won't be wasted."

Brockbank Holds Annual Walk-A-Thon Fundraiser

Brockbank PTA along with Brockbank faculty recently held their fifth annual walk-a-thon fundraiser. It was a great success with lots of support from the students and parents. Students, along with many of their parents, walked laps around a track set up on the grass field as a way to exercise and raise money for the school. The funds will purchase projectors and document cameras for classrooms. The school currently has three classrooms set up with projectors and document cameras, and their goal is to equip every classroom with those items.
