This year the sixth-graders at Brockbank participated in a sixth-grade science fair. Students learned about the scientific process and were then challenged to go home and conduct an experiment that answered a scientific question. The sixth-grade teachers were amazed at the quality of work done by the students. The students worked really hard on their projects. The sixth-grade classes took turns looking at each other's projects and asking questions. The projects were on display in the hallway for a week for the rest of the school to enjoy.

Recently Brockbank third-graders enjoyed meeting their reading goal by having a "camp-out" reading party. Each student had to read at least 8 hours in the month of January to meet their goal. The students got to wear pajamas to school and have smores as a treat. It is a fun way to motivate students to read and a great way to reward them for doing it.
Miss Alyson Tobler's class learned about the traditions and culture of celebrating Chinese New Year, this year it was Sunday, February 14. Visitor Kurt Steinfeldt demonstrated how to use chopsticks and about calligraphy/handwriting characters in Chinese. The students created Chinese lanterns and handed out red envelopes that were to bring luck to those who received them. It was a great learning experience for the students.
Dental Assistants, Tonya Cherrington and Cami Robinson from Red Rock Orthodonists recenty came to Brockbank for Dental Health Month. Friday, Jan. 29, Sterling Randle, a representative from Bean Life Science Museum came to Brockbank to teach the fourth graders about science. He also talked about how to help conserve these environments. Mr. Randle brought an albino toad, a tarantula, and a snake for the students to see up close. It was very interesting and the students enjoyed it.
